What are Italian Charms and Italian Charm Bracelets?
About 5 years ago, Italian charms were introduced in the United States. They originated in Italy, of course, these modular link bracelets have taken the States by storm. All types of people are wearing Italian Charm Bracelets. You can often spot an Italian Charm Bracelet on your favorite celebrity or athlete.

They are completely modular and can be configured in a number of different ways. A regular sized bracelet is made up of 18 individual 9mm charms that are "clipped" together. You can add or change any charm at any time. This is what makes them so fun. Each one is as individual as the person who wears it. Each one is truly unique and holds special meaning to the wearer.

What is the average turnaround time for Custom Italian Charms?
About 4-8 days depending on work load. They need ample drying time.

How do I get started with Italian Charm Bracelets?
You start with a starter bracelet and add charms as you collect them. For each charm you add you can remove a blank link to make sure it still fits right. Or, leave them in if you have a bigger wrist. A standard starter bracelet comes with 18 links and fits a wrist size of 6.75 inches.

What if I have a bigger or smaller wrist than 6.75 inches?
That's easy. Since they are modular, just remove links if you have a smaller wrist. Add links if you have a bigger wrist. When you order your starter bracelet and charms, we are happy to make sure your bracelet (blank links + charms) fits you comfortably. If your wrist size if larger than 6.75 inches, just let us know what your size is and we make sure your bracelet will fit and add blank links, if they are needed, for FREE!

What is a "Charm tool"?
It's just a little tool that helps you separate the links and makes it easier to add and remove them. It's certainly not required, but it does make it a bit easier especially if you have long nails, arthritis or other hand movement difficulties. I use one because I work with them a lot and it's faster for me to use it.

Italian Charm Bracelets in detail!
Starter bracelets consist of 18 blank links clipped together to form a bracelet.

Each "charm" is really just a special link with something on it that you include in your bracelet. The bracelets are completely modular so you can add, remove and rearrange charms and links at will.

These links are simply attached together to form the bracelet. You can use as many or as few as you like. A standard starter bracelet comes with 18 links and fits a wrist size of 6.75 inches.

Photo charms are simply a special kind of link (it has a little "picture frame" built into it) that you add to your starter bracelet. Of course, you can have a bracelet made up entirely of charms, custom photo links or any other combination. They all fit together - kind of like Legos.

Now, if I wanted to add this charm to by bracelet, I would simply connect it in with the other links. (See bottom of this page for method of connecting and disconnecting links - it's easy.) It might look like this:

How Do I add/remove individual links or Charms
Linking your charms is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Locate the end that slides open.

Connect it to the opposite end of the linking charm.

Snap them into place. It's that easy!

Can I send several photos and have you choose the best one?
Absolutely! As long as I am sure what you want the subject to be. I will make sure you the get the best charm possible.

How do I send the image(s) I want you to use to make my charm out of?
Just send the image to us at orders@photocreationsplus.com. If they are regular photos and you don't have a scanner, please send them via mail and we will return them, unharmed, with your charm order. Our mailing address will be on your order confirmation that you will get immediately when you order. If you do scan prints, please make sure the image is at least 300 dpi resolution.

Should I crop the images before sending them?
NO! They have to be in exact proportions in order not to look "distorted" on your charm. I will take care of the cropping.

What image formats can you accept?
I have just about every software under the sun. PhotoShop, Fireworks, PhotoDraw. I don't think there is an image type I can accept. I know that .jpg, .tif, .pdd and .psd files work very well.

I have an idea for a charm, can you make it?
All charms are custom made. The only limit is size and your imagination. I can create just about anything and have access to millions of images. Please contact Taylor at taylork@photocreationsplus.com if you have an idea or design you would like to make into a charm.

What type of photo or images makes the best charms?
Any image can be made into an Italian Charm, but some simply work better than others.

Here are some tips: One clear subject per charm works best. Below is a sampling of images that I hope will give you a very clear idea of which images would and would not make a great looking photo charm!


IDEAL CHOICE This image is a perfect example of an easy to alter picture.	AFTER I can't tell you how pleased I was with this image. It turned out nice and clear!


IDEAL CHOICE They are close enough in height to make this charm work! One person works best, but two can work if they are close enough.	AFTER The people's faces are a little small, but the facial features of the people show up. Any smaller and it wouldn't work.


IDEAL CHOICE High contrast between the parrot and the background make this image ideal.	AFTER Turned out beautiful!


NOT A GREAT CHOICE The subject, a Greenwing Macaw, was too far away. The bird itself is not very clear at all. The face is saturated with light on the one side.
